UX Platforms has been recognized by Medtech Business Review Magazine as the exclusive recipient of “Top MRI Video Systems 2025,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry. This profile has been developed by the Medtech Business Review research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Simon Whalen, CEO and Zack Hinson, Sales Lead.
Whether it’s a routine checkup or a serious condition, MRIs can be a major source of stress for patients. The tight space, loud noise, and enclosed environment often trigger discomfort, movement, claustrophobic reactions, and even missed appointments. For healthcare providers, these issues disrupt workflow, compromise image quality, and increase operational costs.
Patient comfort isn’t a luxury—it’s a workflow imperative. Reducing anxiety leads to higher first-time scan success rates, fewer costly rescans, and improved throughput. Clinics that prioritize comfort benefit from greater efficiency, higher patient satisfaction scores, and a stronger reputation. By supporting technologists and minimizing emotional strain, comfort-focused imaging environments offer a practical solution to operational bottlenecks.
UX Platforms addresses both patient experience and operational efficiency with an in-bore projector that displays calming visuals during scans. Positioned just two feet behind the MRI, it helps distract patients, reduce motion, and improve scan quality. As a result, providers experience fewer rescans, lower staff burnout, and increased patient retention.
“Calm minds, clear images,” says CEO Simon Whalen. “Our in-bore video system has shown to enhance scan quality and workflow efficiency through real-world results.”
At one small, family-owned outpatient center, the introduction of UX Platforms’ system (Cinemode Plus) was associated with a significant drop in claustrophobia-related cancellations and upwards of an 87% decrease in the need for rescans.
Building on that success, UX Platforms introduced CineMode—an attachment that clips onto the bed rails and moves with the patient into the bore, displaying scenic documentaries, proprietary drone footage, and children’s cartoons. Technologists can deploy story-driven content without polling patients, making it ideal for high-throughput days.
All UX Platforms systems are controlled via a simple tablet interface. Installations take just 2–3 hours, typically scheduled before or after clinic hours.
“Just like picking a song on a phone, users can select calming or entertaining content from the tablet—delivering operational benefits to clinics while enhancing patient comfort,” says Zack Hinson, Sales Lead.
UX Platforms offers the only no-contact, no-setup solution on the market. Unlike systems that rely on goggles or external TVs, providers simply power on the tablet and the content starts automatically—no maintenance, cleaning, or workflow disruption required. Support is handled remotely, and the system is compatible with all major MRI OEMs.
Looking ahead, the company plans to launch a fully custom, MR-safe audio system featuring in-ear and over-ear options. All electronic and metal components remain outside the MRI room, with only MR-safe parts passing through the penetration panel—making it the only MR-safe audio system currently in development.
With a proven track record of practical innovation and a clear roadmap ahead, UX Platforms is redefining the MRI experience. From its beginnings with specialized pads to prevent magnet-related burns, the company has evolved into a leader in immersive in-bore projector systems. What was once a stressful, anxiety-inducing procedure is now a calming, patient-centered journey—enhancing comfort, scan quality, and workflow efficiency.
