Thin film, pinhole-free Parylene conformal coatings give the maximum protection for life-saving devices and instruments in the medical industry.
FREMONT, CA: As medical devices turn smaller and more compact, applying Parylene coatings finds growing value due to its molecular-level deposition. Thin film, pinhole-free Parylene conformal coatings present the maximum protection for life-saving devices and devices in the medical industry. Idle, vacuum deposited Parylene is biocompatible and biostable and offers excellent dry-film lubricity, moisture, thermal stability, and chemical and dielectric barrier protection. Additionally, Parylene is FDA-accepted (with a USP XXII, Class VI biocompatibility rating) and is safe for use within the body.

PCT Parylene is USP Class VI Approved
Parylene is a thin, vacuum-deposited polymer. It differs from customary coatings in that it is deposited on objects at room temperature as a film and does not utilize solvents, catalysts, plasticizers, or other feature-bettering additives per a high-purity raw material named di-para xylylene, a white crystalline powder. A vacuum and thermal procedure transforms the powder into a polymer film initiated on substrates at room temperature.
Parylene Medical Coating Services
Parylene coatings protect different medical devices and components, comprising stents, epidural probes, catheters, pacemakers, electrosurgical tools, mandrels, needles, and more. Medical devices utilized in surgical methods are electively coated with Parylene to improve their lubricity and to present selective electrical insulation.
The coating also shields and lubricates hypodermic needles and can generate a biocompatible border on implantable devices & prosthetic hardware. Perylene's special properties include the following:
• Precise conformance to substrate topography.
• The pinhole-free extent is in very thin layers.
• The capacity to penetrate and coat complex surfaces.
Parylene film withstands chemical attacks from organic solvents, inorganic reagents, and acids; it sticks well to several surfaces and provides superior dielectric strength. Moreover, propylene has a lubricious surface with collaborative friction that closes that of PTFE (Teflon).
Parylene is perfect for most substrates, along with glass, ceramics, plastics, metals, elastomers, and silicone rubber. Parylene’s visually clear coatings, such as sharp edges and points, can fit any shape. Parylene does not promote the development of biologics. Its surface is unsuitable for the proliferation of bacteria and other pathogens.
The usefulness of Parylene Medical Coating:
• Biocompatible
• Biologically stable
• FDA approved
• No curing cycle
• Non-toxic
• Resistant to fungal and bacterial proliferation
• Solvent-free
• USP Class VI
• Chemically idle
• Dry-film lubricity
