MedTech Business Review: Selection Methodology

Program Objective

The “Top Medical Device Services” and related recognitions by MedTech Business Review aim to identify organizations across the medical technology sector that demonstrate leadership in manufacturing support and clinical reliability. The program covers service providers supporting medical device OEMs across contract manufacturing, sterilization, outsourcing, testing, and regulatory compliance, alongside manufacturers of essential medical devices, supplies, and consumables—including accessories, clinical products, and orthotics. It also recognizes organizations specializing in maintenance, repair, logistics, and device lifecycle management. By highlighting leaders delivering quality, safety, and operational efficiency, we feature the partners and producers essential to the modern medtech ecosystem.

The Selection Framework

Our research team, in collaboration with the MedTech Business Review Editorial Board, an external panel of industry peers, analysts and subscriber-driven nominations, employs a MedTech Business Value Assessment Model to identify and recognize companies delivering exceptional value to the medtech business ecosystem. Subscriber input plays an important role in the process, highlighting companies that professionals across the industry would recommend to their peers, choose for their own organizations or regard as best-in-class within their domain.

Nominees are scored on a scale of 1–100 across the following four criteria:

Impact on Business Performance and Commercial Outcomes (30%)

Assessment focuses on measurable improvements in cost control, revenue support, product commercialization timelines, reimbursement effectiveness or overall business performance across medtech organizations.

MedTech-Specific Business Fit and Regulatory Alignment (25%)

The editorial board examines how well a provider aligns with the realities of regulatory frameworks, reimbursement models, product lifecycle management and the business structures of medical technology companies.

Execution in Compliance-Driven and Lifecycle-Critical Environments (25%)

Scoring considers the ability to deliver consistently within environments shaped by regulatory requirements, documentation standards, validation processes and coordination across development, approval and commercialization stages.

Market Confidence and Industry Credibility (20%)

Strong candidates demonstrate sustained trust through client relationships, subscriber nominations, repeat engagements, referrals and recognition among medtech leaders as dependable business partners.
